The DAF Salon was founded by Diane Schrader in 2020 with a simple idea: provide a platform to inform and inspire everyone to expand the use of their Donor Advised Funds for impact investments. The Salon quickly became the one centralized source for thought-leadership across entire industry.

​DAF Salons have featured conversations with leadership from ImpactAssets, Realize Impact, Fidelity Charitable, The Prime Coalition, The Philanthropic Initiative, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Marin Community Foundation, UBS Global Private Wealth, #HalfMyDAF, University Impact, Mission Driven Finance, Morrison & Foerster, and, of course, inspiring individuals, and leading family offices.

Since its founding, over a thousand people have attended a DAF Salon. And we’ve had real impact. We’ve reshaped the thinking of some donors and DAF administrators approach how they allocate. We’ve helped DAF administrators hire specialists to expand their capacity to direct impact investments. We’re witnessing new investment first-hand.

The DAF Salon continues to be a forerunner in 2025. This year marks five years for the Salon: virtual, hybrid, and in-person gatherings, The DAF Salon Quarterly, a print magazine dedicated to profiling leaders, sharing ideas, and establishing the industry’s first directory for donor advised funds.
